My 16 month old has been diagnosed with asthma - there have been symptoms since birth. The meds are flovent, serevent, and ventolin. Sometimes when he seems to be having an attack - he breathes in, holds his breath, then grunts while exhaling. Does this sound like asthma symptoms? Has anyone with kids seen this? The ventolin helps relieve this after a while?

Hi,

Is he on the ventolin regularly?....or just when he has symptoms?

The grunting could be him clearing his throat or moving phlegm around.
