I was wondering if the females out here w/ genital HSV use dental dams w/ their partner when he/she is performing oral sex on them if they do not have HSV?

I don't because my partner has HSV 1 anyways and I have HSV 2.

But you should use them if your partner isn't already infected.

No, my soulmate has never used a dental dam in about 13 years of great sex. We just never did anything during an ob or any time near, before or after. That is, I never would let him if I felt any kind of tingle, scratchiness, uncomfortableness, etc; or if i had been stressed out or unusually tired. If you want to be more sure, have him/her wash the mouth right after and rinse with a good germ (not just bacteria)-killer like Hydrogen Peroxide.
