Hello there I have a question about Vitamin A. I have had conflicting answers to my question about how much Vitamin A is too much. My daughter Cayla takes Vitamin A from Cod Liver Oil one time a day. I give her the recomended dosage of 1/2 teaspoon. the problem is she eats a lot of vitamin a vegetables. She eats sweet potatoes a lot and squash also. She is a very picky eater and these seem to be the main vegetables she will eat. Her skin is yellow, but not really bad. The doctor said that I should cut back on the vegetables because Vitamin A can be toxic. I also talked to a nutrionist who said to cut back on the cod liver oil. I really dont want to cut back on the cod liver oil because it helps her so much. My daughter is autistic and the cod liver oil is what brought her eye contact back to us. anyway was just wondering if anyone knew how much is too much. Thanks

For adults, no more than 10,000IU daily including all supplements, and food. For children you can typically cut that in half or two-thirds. ;)
Is your daughter getting enough:
B complex
Magnesium
Vitamin C
CoEnzyme Q10
Selenium
Zinc

hi there thanks for the reply. Yes she gets all of the others you specified. She takes lots of vitamins. I buy them through Kirkmans Labs. I just recently put her on the Co Enzyme Q10. I hope it helps. Thanks
