 Hello all ...I am 25 y/o and I have 1 big tonsil on right side and glands on the right side going down my troat are big also. It hardly ever hurts , just bothers me cause I have not as good feeling in that part of my body as I do the other said ...I get lots of headaches mainly on my right side .I have told the doctor and he said it was normal..But I don't feel normal ...my gums are sore and the back right side of my head is sore.I would love to have my tonsils just took out ...but when I tell the doctor they say it is fine.If it's fine why does it bother me???I had my wisdom teeth took out and thought it would get better , but it's yet to get better ...Could this be my tonsils ...or brain cancer ??? Leave in mind I have this problem since I was 15 y/o and it only gets worse ..thanks for any replys.

Sounds to me like you eaither need to see an Ears, nose and throat doc (ENT) or you need a second opinion. My tonsils were always huge and one a bit bigger than the other for 18yrs I suffered in pain (mine hurt all the time) with about 4 to 5 cases of tonsilitis and strep throat a year since the age of 5. My doctor finally sent me to an ENT and he asked me why they hadn't been taken out sooner. Beleive me I feel so much better now that they are gone!!! Not to scare you or anything but having one tonsil bigger than the other can sometimes be a symptom of tonsil cancer but it's not always the case mine weren't cancerous. Like I said I would get a second opinion good luck.

Im also wondering if the bite is correct in your mouth, having wisdom teeth can shift the bite, and effect it even when you have them taken out, results in headaches over a TMJ (grinding, and causes the jaw to move), you have any popping sounds with your jaws on occasion. Or when you bite down, is your Front Two teeth in complete alignment with the bottom two teeth. I should be a complete straight line between the too to tell. Just a thought.

Hi Alleycat..Thanks for your reply ..Yes, one tonsil is about 3 sizes bigger than the other ...doesn't bother me everyday ..but does give me that numb feeling ect. I noticed when I have a cold , toothache, headache, neckache or my sinuses act up , that one right tonsil and down the ride side of the neck , has more pain than normal. I have suffered this for years, but as I get older , it's only getting worse.I know my chances of being cancer are there too, I can't be scared.I have to face the facts and got to know.I think I will ask my doctor to reccomend me to the Nose, throat and Ear doc. Thanks again for your reply !!!

Hi there crabbyroad,
My bite is not correct in my mouth and I also have the popping and I grind alot in my sleep,I have always however had a slight over bite.I just recently had my wisdom teeth took out ...I feel like an adult teething,my gums where sore.. ect. But now still yet..I get sore gums and the main right side of my face, head, neck gives me the numb /pain feeling and headache just located on the right side .I always thought this may be due to the big tonsil and maybe a swelled lymthnoid.I have sore feeling of the jaw/under ear...as it where a bruise when touched..but the left side feels normal as can be ..no pain no numbness.I am only hoping that this is a bad tonsil that can be took out and I feel fine again. Thanks for your reply !!

Hi all....
I had my two top wisdom teeth extracted many years ago, my two bottom ones are completely grown in (I guess I am one of the lucky ones whose wisdom teeth dont come in impacted) anyway....they seem to be healthy, no decay or whatever, but since there is nothing on the top ,the bottom wisdoms have "grown" (when I had the top ones removed they warned me about this happening, essentially, the bottom wisdoms will continue to grow, because nothing is on top to stop them) so my wisdom teeth on the bottom stick up about 1/2 inch above the rest. This makes my jaw out of aline and sometimes gives me headaches due to the strain. I was just wondering, I have lately had a mild sore throat, and some left tonsil discomfort, and a feeling of a "crick" in my neck on that side, does anyone think this could be related to my wisdom teeth, even though they are not impacted?

This is just my personal opinion, but I don't think its related to your wisdom teeth. Maybe you slept on your neck the wrong way....

Regarding your teeth. That must cause some discomfort in your mouth...??? Why not have them pulled too........??? Just wondering.....

If you're also getting headaches on the same side as the tonsil thing, it might be sinus problems.
