 Just thought I would let everyone know that I am still around. Have been pretty sick. I have graves and took RAI. Well it turned me very hypothyroid verrrry quickly. I feel like a zombie.

Right now I am only taking 10mg. of Lipitor. Do you think I should go back on the 20mg. since hypo can make cholesterol go up? I know you're are not doctors but I thought I would ask. My appetite is like a bird.

Thank you Betty

You have successfully negotiated one more hurdle in life! I know that they become more frequent as we age. I suspect that your MD will work rather carefully to help you maintain a euthyroid state by appropriate replacement therapy. Though you feel a bit washed out....complain loudly about your symptoms! Your doctor's treatment is intended to make you feel better. Modification of the Lipitor will probably follow once your thyroid is under better control.

Thank you bigdobe! You sound like a creative writer and a doctor. My MD has been a bit stubborn and preoccupied lately. I am going to have to complain verrrr loudly. I am on PTU and tapering it off to see if I hit euthyroid. I think that is rather dumb myself. But of course through the eyes of an MD the patient is not well educated about such things.

Thank you for the gggreat reply!!!!
