View Full Version : Best drug for Psoriatic Arthritis?

Hi
I'm in the early stages of PA. It was diagnosed a few months ago and I've tried Arcoxia and am now on Sulfasalazine. Only been on it 2 weeks and the rheumy is gradually increasing my dose. Supposed to take 6-8 weeks to work. I hope I can last that long, feeling as sick as I do on this drug.

Anyway, what I wanted to ask you all was "Which drug has worked the best for you?"

I figured that a bit of a survey would help me in terms of knowing what has worked the best on average. I need hope!

My boyfriend was/is taking Naproxen (or Naproxen Sodium) for the psoriatic arthritis. (He was also diagnosed a couple of months ago -amazing how one day you wake up and your ankle, knee & back hurts non-stop and you have psoriasis!-)

Anyway, you become inmune to Naproxen after taking it for so long for him was a month. 550mg now is nothing. Finally he got approved for Enbrel 100% insurance converage & believe it or not he has 9 days without needing to take Naproxen! Hopefully Enbrel is going to keep on working its miracles.

(Anyway, ask for Naproxen.. its generic.. cheaper, and at least you can have relief for a month -until you become inmune to it & try to see if you can get Enbrel, its better-)

Go to this website www.needymeds.com = they can provide for FREE Enbrel, but you must qualify first. I know a lady who got it FREE there. Bunch of paperwork, but it is worth it.

Hope you feel better!

I have been on Enbrel for a few years and it has proven to be a wonder drug for me. I am for the most part asmptomatic, just a little stiffness in the morning when I first get up. My psoriasis has also cleared up almost completely.

Good Luck!
