okay i want to gain muscle mass but i am also a bit over weight ,so i was wondering if the creatine would get in the way of losing body fat, i planned on using cardio and a diet for fat loss.

you shouldn't be using creatine unless you're an experienced body builder.

Creatine does nothing for fat loss. In fact, it will probably make you more bloated as it causes your body to retain more water. Skip it unless you're willing to hold a little more weight. You should really set a goal of gaining muscle OR losing fat. It can be difficult to do both.
