Does anyone know anything about the VAX-D treatment table for herniated discs? And if so, please tell me what your experience is or was with the VAX-D. I am just trying to exercise every option to my herniated disc at L2-L3 and L3-L4 before surgery. This table sounds too good to be true so I wonder if it really works. Thank you!

I researched the vax-d table very thoroughly. It is too good to be true. I went on to the FDA website and did a search on Vax-d. it stated that the company was advertising certain aspects of what the table could do like suck the jelly back in the disc and the FDA didn't like this and almost recalled the product. I have spoken to several top spine surgeons in New York and they all say it is short term relief just like regular traction. I actually went for a free consultation and was not impressed. If it could relieve pain without surgery, everyone would be doing it. Look into www.nucleoplasty.com. (http://www.nucleoplasty.com.) This is for someone who has a contained herniated disc. They do not cut you, but go in with a needle and take out some of the jelly in the disc so it shrinks and moves away from the nerve. I am a physical therapist and I, too, have a herniated disc. I am considering the nucleoplasty procedure.
Good Luck and I hoped I helped you.

Thank you MPT for your reply. I thought that was probably the case with the VAX-D. I am scheduled for the PED procedure (percutaneous endoscopic discectomy) on December 12th but is the nucleoplasy a better procedure? I have seen on this board so many people who have had it done but not too many that have had the PED procedure done. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
