I was told that I have Dementia. I have recent memory loss (comes and goes), problems with speech like using the wrong words and writing the wrong letters, concentration problems, brain fog, forgetting the names of people (not anyone close to me or family), etc. I know that I have some depression which is worse right now. My Neuro first told me that it could be depression, MS or Alzheimer's. He has ruled out MS and doesn't think it is depression. He thinks it is early stages of Alzheimer's. I find it hard to believe that this could be true since I am only 44. One of the reasons he doesn't think it is depression is because I had an episode where I couldn't remember how to cut up an onion to cook. Has anyone else been told this or have similiar symptoms?

I know I have posted before to you but have you been tested completely for Lupus. All of the symptoms are the same as Lupus.

I developed a sun allergy (solar urticaria) in 1992 and doctors couldn't figure out why and still don't know. My skin turns completely red (only areas exposed to the sun) after being in the sun for about 8 minutes. Doctors thought it might be lupus so I had a lupus test and it was positive. I then went to a Rhuematologist and was tested again. She said that my test was negative but that I had arthritis. I am tested for lupus every year and it has been negative every time. I've heard that you can have false positive tests with this. I only know a little about lupus, only what I have read from medical books that cover most diseases.

I was tested positive back in 1989 and was on several meds.I have not had a flare up(knock on wood)since 1994.I go to the Dr. every 3 months. My Dr. said you can be fine one day and the next not be able to move.I would see if you can be tested more often. If I'm not mistaken Lupus is a form of arthritis.I'm telling you, most of your symptoms are also symptoms of Lupus. When was the last time you had blood work done for Lupus?
Good luck and keep in touch.

I was tested about 2-3 months ago. Do you think it is possible to have lupus and the test results be negative. Several years ago I read a lot about lupus and I thought for sure that I had it but my tests always come back negative except for that very first test. I am right in thinking that when you have lupus you can actually have many different diseases or that it can cause many different diseases?
