How long have you been on the vicodin?
Withdrawals generally consist of fever, chills, hot flashes, diahreah, anxiousness, trembling, and I'm sure a host of other things.
It may be possible that it is related, but it could also be related to the stress you've now been put under by having your meds dissappear on you as well as the extra pain you might be feeling about now. What did the ER say.

I do agree, pain definately causes BP to raise. I have fairly low BP, usually in the 80 - 90/40 margin. When in pain my BP increases to about 125-130ish (top number). While this is a normal range it is not normal for me and definately indicates some serious pain.

It's a sad day when we can't trust our own family when it comes to our medications. I sure hope this doesn't happen again, it's not your fault of course. It's one of those things were you have to guard your meds with your life, litterally. When paying a visit to someone only take the exact amount you need in a small container you can carry with you or hide well and maybe one or two extra just in case. There's been many posts about this lately and family members stealing medications.
Also, if I were you and it's possible, I'd also purchase a safe or something very secure to keep all meds in you aren't using, and only keep a small amount out at a time.

Hope you feel better soon!

Yeah I know pretty sad when you cant even trust your own family I called for my refill today it is the 29th day on a 30 day script and my doc is ussually pretty cool I just hope he fills it or I am really screwed I cant take the combination of being in pain and going through withdrawal to boot this is ridiculos good suggestion on the meds I had them in my travel bag in our (mine and my wifes room) and she got into them I just need to hide meds when certain people are going to be around and just keep on me what I need for the day! SAD!

might be some withdrawal then. If the pm can't help you, and he probably won't as most won't buy the story or loosing meds or them being stolen as it is your responsibility, then see if he can at least give you something to help with the withdrawals during this period of time.
I feel for you!

Big Tuna,

I hope you are feeling better today. We have all as CP'ers learned some hard lessons with our meds. I use a liquid for BT (long story) anyway, I ended up spilling an entire bottle last month. (equivalent of 50 10mg percs). I didn't even bother to call my doc and just suffered it out. I knew better than to do what I did,(there is a long post on the board somewhere about how it happened, I basically fell asleep holding the open bottle) The hard learned lessons are the ones we usually remember. I hope you are feeling better today.

God Bless,
Sherry

Hi. I just wondered why your doctor is leaving you on 6 or more vicodin a day rather than switching you to a long-lasting med? It would certainly be safer for your liver.

In response to your question carol I hurt myself at work late last november and my states labor and industries is still fighting my claim my doc has already mentioned a long lasting med (oxycontin) but the exspense at this point would kill me I pay about $60/mo for my hydrocodone luckily vicodin has a cheap generic my ex employer canned me (bye bye insurance) about the time I was hurt I had been sick for weeks with influenza/flu symptoms and lost my balance at 12 feet in the air at this point carol I would love to be on a long lasting med the vicodin is like a 50/50 chance sometimes the amount of tylenol im taking is a concern but for now it is the only relief I have
