ther is no 10mg without the apap, thats prob why your doc has you taking (2)i5mg.it comes 5,15,20,and i believe 30mg without the apap.for cp most docs will eventually switch the patient off something like percs to roxi.i personally feel the difference as i think i got a little more pain relief from 2 percs than just the oxy...i still take a couple of tylenols a few times a week..scotty

The milligram ratio from one to the other is supposed to be 1:1, so you are correct, basicaly it is the same but without the apap .

Thanks! scotty,what i meant was,i take oxycodone I.R 2 5 mg,every 4 hrs.The narcotic in percocet is oxycodone,in my case,i'm taking just oxycodone,the I.R is imediate release,without the apap.

I think you just answered your own question, lol. Yes the two oxy ir 5 mg's are equivalent to a 10 mg percocet but with no apap. Oxy ir comes in 5 mg, 15 mg and 30 mg dosage tablets, with the 15 and 30 mg tablets known as Roxicodone. Oxycodone (immediate release dosage types) also comes in a liquid known as "Oxyfast" (generic also available) with a dosage of 20 mg per dosage in mililiters (using a supplied eyedropper measuring device).

I've read that apap makes the drug work better, and i have noticed, now i take my 10 mg oxycodone, with a tylonol, and for what ever reason,it works better.

Yes, some studies have shown that apap and oxycodone have a "synergistic" effect together. However, it is possible that over the long term, the risks of possible liver damage outweigh the benefit of the apap in pain relief. For a CP'er its constantly a fine balance between risks and benefits when it comes to apap.

Roxicodone elixer also comes in 5mg per 5ml. 2 teaspoons equals 10mg oxy with no apap. It also comes in generic made by mallincrokdt. I use the generic and take 20mg or 4 tsp every 6-8 hrs.

God Bless,
