What do they do when you have a pinched nerve in your back? For several months, I would get lower back pain, and it would shoot down left leg, especially affecting my knee. Finally I went to the doctor, and she thinks I might have a pinched nerve in my back  . Just to double check that its not my knee though, I'm getting an MRI in my knee this coming week. I'm terrified of doctors, so does anyone have any experience or advice on this?

if you have a pinched nerve often times doctors will start with non evasive proccedures like physical therapy or even sometimes a chiropractor. This can generally help allieviate it for some time. After which point you may have injections or worse case, surgery. Folks on the back board may give you a better feel for standard proceedures.
