Did you go through a special program your health/vision insurance offers? My insurance doesn't cover LASIK, but it has a program that offers you up to 25% off if you use a certain doctor. I am just wondering if there really is a discount, or if they are just trying to get you to use a certain doctor.

Does the doctor give you valium before the procedure?

Thanks in advance

When I had LASIK I choose the doctor first. However, at my first consultation when they quoted the price they did say that I would receive a $200 discount per eye because my insurance provider was part of the network.

I was given a prescription for a tranquilizer but I did not need to take it.

Thanks for the info. If you don't mind, how much did your surgery cost? Thanks

I paid $1400 per eye. Without insurance it would have been $1600. So I guess they gave me a 13% discount.
