View Full Version : Cysts on both ovaries

I have recently found out I have cysts on both of my ovaries. I know cysts are common, but I have had pelvic pain for nearly 2 months and have missed two periods. My doctor prescribed Provera and I took it for 10 days. She said I should start bleeding within a week after I stop taking Provera. Well it has been a week and my period has not started. To my dismay, the pain also seems to be worsening. What could this mean? Could it be cancer? I had a pap test not long before the pain started and it was normal. Could the test results have been wrong? Please help.

Hi,
I too was just diagnosed with a 6cm size syst on my left Ovary. I got the cyst even though I am on the pill. The pill is suppose to prevent it.,

I too have pain as well as other symptoms.

Cysts are common in women. That is what my doctor told me as well. Maybe your body just is going through a change. Did you let the doctor know that you have not gotten your period??

I tell yah I am nervous too. I am 38 years old, and I haven't known of me having a cyst since I was 17. The thing that scares me is that my cyst is so large. If it was small I probably wouldn't worry as much.

Did your doctor have you go for a Transvaginal Sonigram ??

I have to go back in a couple of weeks for another.

If you are not getting your period, let your doctor know!!!

Let me know what happens.
