I have an appointment at the Mayo on Thursday, they called and reminded me about it and told me only to drink water or coffee for 6 hours before the appointment in case any tests should be run.

I don't drink coffee anyhow, but still I thought it was supposed to be 12 hours and just water? Looking at some of the testing lab sites in some of the test descriptions I've looked up they state not to drink anything other than water for 12 hours, this is what I've always presumed as well.

I'm going for fasting lab work this week, and they also say I can have coffee and water. But no cream or sugar.
