Hi,
My mom has RA and though it has somewhat improved over the years (Due to medicine) she still has quite a bit of pain. It breaks my heart because she was so active and even thru the pain she rarely lets it slow her down. She has been on a host of different medicines and I was wondering if you all could help me with non medicinal therepy that has helped you. I have suggested that she try therapeutic massages and exercising more. could you all tell/give me some tips or suggestions to help my mom feel better. Thank you

Theraputic massages can be helpful as well as water therapy or aquatic exercises. Biofeedback and focusing techniques are often used during very difficult periods of pain.
Seeking out pain management counseling or classes are often benificial as well as they help you to cope with the stress.
If she gets to a point where it impacts her daily living and the pain becomes unbearable it is then time to seek out a pain management specialist.

Good luck

I know how your Mom feels. I'm only 38 and I have arthritis in my back. I've been on muscle relaxers and pain meds for years now. I have started physical therapy recently.Right now I'm doing aquatic therapy and it seems to be helping. I do hope that your Mom can find some much needed relief. We'll pray for her! Bless you for being a concerned and caring daughter! Take care!
