Hi. I've been dealing for a couple of years with obsessions and recently found out that these were manifestations of OCD. The weird thing is when I figured out that my obsessions were the product of OCD, they significantly dissapeared. I still feel their presence sometimes, though they are not constantly there.

It seems my anxiety came from the fact that I kept rationalizing the origins of these thoughts and assumed that if I was constantly thinking them then they must have been true or meaningful. Knowing that these thoughts come from OCD, my obsessions have significantly went away.

It seems weird to me because I've always heard that you can't rationalize yourself out of OCD. I'd appreciate anyone's impression on this. Thanks.
