Hi All!

I was just diagnosed with IBS D 2 weeks ago. My question is has anyone ever had pain in the middle of your abdomen just below the breastbone? My was so bad and it lasted for about 4 days and then it was very tender in that spot for about 4 more days. It was a pain like I was in labor and I had to breathe through the pain. The pain lasted for a few seconds and then would go away. It would come and go alot especially after I ate or drank something. I called my doc and she sent me for an ultrasound to see if it was my gall bladder, but everything was fine there. I had the same thing about a year and a half ago, and at that time she thought it was my appendix. I also have leakage about an hour after having a bowel movement. There is no pain, I just feel wet down there and have to go and wipe myself. It is brown in color and watery and does leak on to my underwear (VERY EMBARRASSING!). I had a colonoscopy done 3 weeks ago and they removed polyps which turned out to be hyperplastic polyps (not pre-cancerous ones) and he said everything else looked fine. I would just like to know if this is related to the IBS. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all your help. Natalie

The pain u r experiencing(if its not the gall bladder) could be an ulcer.Ive had my gall bladder removed and i experienced pains like that.But I also have an ulcer and u get pain there and it can be really bad at times.Hurts most on empty stomach in the morning or when eating something spicy.If thats the case just take Tagament and them pains will go away.

Sounds very much like a ulcer. Do see your Doctor...I have Lupus and on many meds, so ended up with the ulcer, now on meds for it. As for IBS...I was diagnosed 20 years ago, last three years I been on a drug called ME*****VINE...I am in the uk...It has helped with the IBS so much...
