Your mother must feel so lucky to have a wonderful daughter as yourself. Poor body image effects millions and millions of people, so let your mom know that she isn't alone with her feelings. The problem though isn't how she looks on the outside, it's hers and the millions of peoples mentality that needs to change. Not stress so much about how we look, but focus more on what's inside, and this is so much easier said than done. Your mom and myself and the rest of the world needs to retrain our thoughts and re-evaluate what is more important in life. After all, in the end all there is left is what's on the inside once looks start to fade.
So Mom please don't feel so low about yourself, it should make you feel good to have raised such a sweet and caring daughter who's willing to do anything for your happiness! ~Take Care and Best Wishes~

I agree that we are expected to look a certain way. However how we feel about ourselfs can effect are attitude and self worth as women. If your mom is getting depressed because she isn't losing the weight fast enough I know doctors sometimes use ultra violet treatment to treat depression. my suggestion is to get her some tanning sessions it makes u feel good, about yourself and your body. I was 185 pounds before i started to diet and i got down to 145 before I had my son and kept it off with weight watchers. It really works I had my son 9 months ago and I was 195 pounds Im now 165 and still losing and this is by the way without exercise. Otherwise i know I would be back to my 145 size 8. maybe this may help your mom it did me. Good luck to you and your mother..

You know, I think it's not so much weight as it is attitude. I look at someone like Oprah and I say she is really beautiful. She's well-dressed, groomed nicely and she has a really confident attitude. Maybe you could help your mom make over her look as she's slimming down and it would boost her confidence?
