Increasing potassium intake can help, but shouldn't be done if you have a medical condition that requires you take ACE-inhibitors or Beta-blockers (heart and BP issues).
Avoiding processed foods high in sodium can help; but don't cut out all sodium, you do need some for health.
Keep drinking your water; it's the surest way to keep water retention at bay. Your body will only hold onto what it isn't getting enough of, so the more water you drink the more it will be willing to let go of.
Bloating and water retention can sometimes be the result of a food intolerance, usually you experience swelling, bloating, gas and an upset stomach.
