Hey Guys,
I use to shave my bikini line and it left me with a shadow. I also get constant bumps around the area. Now I use nair hair remover, but it dosen't seem to be working, any suggestions on how to remove this shadow and bumps that I have?
thanks in advanced,

I wax my legs and bikini area. No problems since. You just have to rmember to exfoliate a couple of times a week to prevent ingrown hairs. Bonus, very smmoth soft skin.

I'd like to hear if anyone waxes themselves instead of going to a salon. I have done it a couple of times with so-so results. I think my main problem is the type of wax I'm using.
Any suggestions?

I tried waxing myself and it killed me. I couldn't finish the job so I had to shave the rest off.

I was just wondering if professionally waxing your bikini line was REALLY that painful?! I wanna get it all waxed off but I'm not sure I can take the pain. So is it THAT bad?! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif I hope not!!

If you can tolerate pain, it might not be so bad.

You definitely get better results with waxing and you don't have to worry about the itchy bumps. I can't do it myself because I know the pain is coming and can't bring myself to do it. I probably get it done once or twice a year, just when I know I'll be spending time in a swim suit. It lasts for several weeks so the pain is worth it if you're going on vacation or something.

I can do it my self by using Emla cream. Its a topical anesthetic. Numbs it just enough to make it tolerable.

I am actually going to get a wax done tomorrow. I'm planning on going to the beach on Saturday. So, wish me luck!

even after you wax u get the bumps afterwards so yeah you gotta scrub so new skin dont cover the holes of the hair waxed coz thats what u call ingrown hairs the best wax is immac with there special strips they come with are what professionals use
u got to tighten the skin as much as possibly when using wax and spread thinly and only do a square inch at a time or not even that that really lessens the pain
i think thats where alot of girls are going wrong with this wax they think they can put the wax on the whole entire bikni area and then whisk it off which halfway through there in agony and have to slowly praise off the rest real slowly
where if u do alittle at a time u can whisk off quickly and easierly and with much less pain

I use the Nair 4 minute formula on my legs and bikini area and it works better than shaving. I won't get waxed. I'm too scared.

I've been using Nad's hair removal. The first time was a little uncomfortable, but it's all in the technique. Be sure to hold the skin taught and rip quickly in the opposite direction of the hair growth. The first few times I kept an ice pack nearby to reduce redness and slight swelling. (I know, sounds horrifying!) I will never go back to shaving, though, the regrowth was more painful than waxing.

Is the Emla cream expensive? I wax myself and have never had it done professionally.
I think it get easier the more you do it i've noticed, your skin builds up a tolerance i guess coz at first it would be real red and sore for a day and now it's only a couple hrs.I use the roll on sugar wax from nair, very convenient and it is easy to rinse off.
And you HAVE to exfoliate or you'll be so sorry once it starts growing back.I use tend skin as well.
