I have been diagnosed with ibs and my doctor put me on librax, has anyone ever taken this medicine? I am currently taking Lexapro for my anxiety, only have been on it for 3 weeks, so far I think it may be helping with the anxiety part but not the ibs.

hey i took lexapro for a little bit... but found it aggravated my ibs symptoms.. so i switched to tofranil..... about librax, i wish i would have got prescribed that too b/c of all the good things i've heard about it.. i did have a script for Xanax(only 20 pills) about a year ago, and i still have 2 left.. and instead of taking them for anxiety i did take them for a horrible ibs episode.... i've done that several times, and it worked wonders for me.... as far as spasms and stuff.... and librax is the same type of "benzo" medicine.... same class... it should work well for you!

I read what good things librax did for ibs and asked my doctor for it.

I took librax for 3 months and it didn't do anything for my ibs. I didn't think it did anything for me/to me, until I stopped taking it and literally felt like the sunshine returned to my life. I didn't realize what a dark cloud I was under while taking it.

My doctor also gave me a sample of celexa which totally messed up my head. I know from the celexa board that I was taking way too much (20 mil, should have started with 5), but maybe I just can't take anti-depressants.

I'm sure it works for some, and I wish you luck with it!
