I have been having really bad indigestion for the last 3 weeks. I haven't hardly eaten anything and I have lost 25 pounds. I am overweight so it wouldn't hurt me to lose a few pounds.
My doctor diagnosed me with GERD. I finally got the indigestion under control with over the counter Prilosec. I tried Nexium but had an allergic reaction to it. I used to have feelings of something coming back up in my throat, if I ate or not, I even felt that way after drinking water.
Now those feelings are almost gone, they have improved at least.
Now I still have horrible gas. Not flatulence but I am always burping, or making myself burp up air and my stomach gets very bloated. The burping is the only thing that seems to help.
Is this GERD or something else if I still have this gas? My lower back gets very tense and sore sometimes since this all started. I have a mild pain right under my right ribcage if I press on the spot. I noticed it after my doctor examined me and asked me if I was sore anywhere. It didn't hurt when she was doing it but now ever since then I have that sore spot if I press on it.

It also seems like I am swallowing a lot more and my saliva is "thicker"
What could this be?

yogut may help the digestion, also try alfalfa tablets
are you swallowing air as this can cause lots of burps and pain
a med called carfate is often used for GERD
