Good morning...... My youngest son is almost 9 yrs old and we have been battling asthma since about the same age as your. I wish I could tell you that one time of the year is better than another. But for us it has been up and down thru the years. I believe that winter is harder for my son, it seem that he always catches some bugs, and puts us down for 2-3 weeks at a time. I know for us, it took a long time to find a doctor that we are comfortable with, I would suggest finding a pulmonary dr that specializes in your sons condition, we had our son treated by his regular peds dr. for some time, but things never got any better until on one of our endless trips to the emerency room, we finally met up with a dr from our state university hospital working weekend there, and by luck he specialize in asthma and was relocating to our area. So we got lucky, and my son has been seeing him for the last 7 yrs. As it turns out my sons has the allergy end of the deal to, so we are able to have one doctor to treat both areas. But I know that until my son was on a daily preventive med for his asthma his symtoms was running wild and it was an constant up and down battle. I am sending prayers your way, because I remember so well the endless nights up with my son. Hope I am able to help in some way, if you have any question I hope to be able to help. Teresa :)

Hi.
My son is 6 years old and has had asthma since he was 3 months. He has been in the hospital many, many times. The winter is always the worst for us too. He can go all summer without being sick which is strange because we live in louisiana and the summers are humid and hot. I found a wonderful doctor who said most of his problems are allergy too. We are on preventive meds everyday which does help alot. He takes Zyrtec, Nasonex, and singular everyday. During the winter months if he needs he uses his nebulizer. We also had to pull up carpets, get leather furniture, cover pillows and beds, and I put air filters in every room. Since the change in the house and the meds we have not been in the hospital in 3 years (knock, knock) So my advice is to see about his allergies too. I hope things get better for you and your family.
God Bless,
