Just received my latest results after reducing my Lipitor from 20mg to 10mg they are as follows:
Before Lipitor
Total Cholesterol: 255
LDL: 191
HDL: 42
Tricyrides: 138
Lipitor 20mg
Total Cholesterol: 139
LDL: 79
HDL: 46
Tricyrides: 98
Lipitor 10mg
Total Cholesterol: 141
LDL: 90
HDL: 40
Tricyrides: 119
Thoughts anyone

If you've not already had a cardiac event I would stick with the 10mg. The numbers are respectable. If you have already had a cardiac event I would probably go back to the 20. Just my humble opinion

I tried the same thing recently--from 40 mg Zocor to 20. My total cholesterol, LDL and HDL went down slightly and my trigs went up slightly. All my numbers were still very good. I am pleased with the results and will keep checking them.

I've been tempted to cut my Zocor back to 20 mg from 40, but I'm afraid to because I've already had a stent and bypass. I would only do it under the care of my doctor with her recommendation.
