I had another positive ANCA test, but everything else comes back fine. The Dr said they are doing more blood test on the ANCA because the strand does not look normal even for a positive ANCA test. I was on predisone and that was a miracle drug and helped alot then I was feeling better and got off of it and now I am in the worse pain ever, I can hardly walk or lift my arms. Dr. said try VIOXX with some perscription gel lotion stuff and of course thats not helping at all. I called her this morning and she said try uping the dose and take Tylenol. I will take it, but I know it won't help. I just want to scream why no one can find out what is wrong with me and I keep breaking out and start crying and I just did it in front of my two little ones and I don't want them worried either. If anyone has had a positive ANCA test let me know and I am not talking about the ANA test. Thanks Ginny

Hi Ginny,

I have no experience with this but I just wanted to say hang in there and I understand what you're going through. I hate it when the pain gets the better of me and I cry in front of my two year old. But I always explain to him why Momma's crying and I think I'm raising a more sensitive boy because of it. When he grows up he won't run at the sight of a woman crying.

Hope you get some answers soon. Love - Andy

Hi Ginny,

Vioxx was like eating M&M's to me. It did nothing but hurt my stomach. If the predisone helped though, I would think that you have inflammation somewhere. Tylenol is not going to do anything for inflammation. If the Vioxx continues not to help, ask your Dr. for ibuprofen 600 or 800. That helped me a lot more than the vioxx did. Of course with all of that stuff you have to watch taking too much, but it may help for a bit.

Good Luck
Chris

Hi, thanks for the response.

My doctor finally diagnosed me with FM. It only took two years to do, I knew I had it though just waited for her to finally say it. I had all the trigger points plus some ( we all probably do ). Doctor said that I have no inflimation and put me on 50mg of vioxx for two weeks, since the 25mg only helped a little and put me on Alvil for sleep. Not sure if I spelled that right. I go back in two weeks to see if the meds help. My hubby went with me this time and I am glad he did so he could what the doctor said. He said he was sorry for not doing more around the house and said he would help me more. YEAAHHHHHHHHHH!! Thanks for listening!
