I was given that when I was in the er because of my ibs. What it does basicly is it calm you and your intestines a whole bunch. Now I am a lightweight (I can't take tylenol 3 with out fainting) but that made me feel stoned honestly. I personaly did't like it but hey if it works it works. Hope I helped.

hey all i have to say is that i had a completely diff. experience w/ this medicine.. i have taken a lot of diff. anti depressants and this is the first one that has actually WORKED, and that i have tolerated, and still feel LIKE MYSELF!... this type of anti-dep. works well for ibs-d... give it a try.... side effects are common for the first week or so... (i didn't experience any noteable ones).... and it could take upwards of 6 weeks to full work.. i take 100 mg now.. up from 50. my doc said he could even move me up to 150 mg. in a couple weeks... after i started taking this i went 19 days w/out having a bad day.. and i've only had like 2 bad ones in a couple months if that makes you feel better about it... ask about xanax to take w/ it for like 2 weeks to ease you into the anti-dep.....
