Thank you so much for taking time to read. I will try to make this as brief as possible. I have had rectal bleeding for 13 yrs. I have seen countless drs. They all said same thing " fissures and hems." IN Jan.,saw a new surgeon,he said it was a fissure and did an LIS in his office,I had 6 great weeks of no pain and bleeding.Then out of no where the bleeding returned worse than before. I called the surgeon,he acted cocky and told me it was not his fault more or less. I saw a new dr in June. He admitted me in the hospital and put me to sleep and did a proctocope and sigmoidoscopy. He even took pics that he gave me, of 2 large hemorrhoids and a large angry anterior fissure. He removed all of them and supposedly did another sphincterotomy. That was 8 weeks ago,I used milk of mag. nightly and felt great except for tiny amount of bleeding daily with bowel movement. I saw him this week for my 8 week f/u and he said I should not be bleeding. He checked me in his office with a hugh lighted scope,very painful. He said he saw an ulcer that was causing the bleeding,he later called it a fissure,he said it was from the loose stools i was having from the daily m.o.m. and to stop it at once. He wanted me to use fiber supplements and eat a high fiber diet,which I did. Today I bled like crazy-massive amounts of blood. I have grown "too small back there " to accomodate the large stools that fiber supplements produce. NOw,the reason I am posting here is because for years I have worried that the bleeding was from rectal cancer. I have always told the drs this,they continue to say it is not,over and over. MY surgeon even sent the hems. to pathology to have it checked,they said it was fine,I read the report. But I have told my dr that I am worried about the area that keeps having fissures actually be cancer,he says it is nothing but a "plain old fissure" and he would know by looking at it. I am still scared out of mind. Thank you for any help you can offer.
