alikt,
First, I'd like to say that you are acting mature and responsible for your age. It's good to see that you are researching and educating yourself now.

I had a similar problem at your age long ago. I thought I got my girlfriend pregnant in high school. We went to planned parenthood and they treated us very nicely when she went in to get tested (back then no home tests were available). Anyway, my point is that I believe they don't require your parents permission for STD tests. So, don't worry about that.

Second, you should still go and get tested for herpes even if your bumps disappeared. You're right that it could be something else other than H, but it's good to be certain. Just think, if you don't you'll always wonder and worry yourself crazy.

If you really don't want to, then please use condoms at least from now on and keep an eye out for any more symptoms. If the bumps RETURN, then that could be a strong sign that it's herpes. At that point, you really should obtain a test.

I hope you make the right decision; Take Care and if you need anymore support come back here.

Just out of curiosity, when your boyfriend got tested for STDs, did he specifically ask for a herpes test? The thing is, it's not like they just take some sample and automatically test for everything. HIV is one test, gonorrhea and chlamydia, etc----they're all different tests and you have to specify. Just double check that he got specifically tested for everything.
Sorry you're going through this--- I do hope that it's something else,
but just remember that if it is herpes, you will be ok. It's a pain, but things could be so much worse. Try not to stress too hard until you know for sure what it is.... easier said than done, i know.
And feel free to come to this board any time you need some support--- we've all been through it!
Take good care,

Before I first had sex with my partner I made him have an std check up. We assumed that check up tested you for "everything" and when his HIV and other tests came back negative I thought everything was fine. How wrong was I? We now know he wasn't tested for Herpes or Warts.
We found this out only after I caught Herpes off him. I have had it now for 3 years and only found out what it actually was a few months ago when I started to get ongoing outbreaks non stop and you couldn't really miss what it was.

The next time you come out in a blister etc i'd get it swabbed to make sure if I were you.

Good Luck.
