I have a question, I have recently started to develop an exercise planthat Ive been doing for 3 weeks. I walk on the treadmill for 30 min. 4 days per week @ either 9 incline 3.7 mph or 7 incline 4.0 mph. Anyway, I have lost 70 lbs in the last year-but I seem to be at a lull so I started to exercise.I weighed 156 when I started in the middle i weighed 154 and now im back up to 156. i am very frusterated because the whole point was to loose those extra 20 lbs. Please help any adviice really appriciated!
Just wanted to say that you have done a great job so far and after loosing 70 pounds I would be jumping for joy! :bouncing: Are you saying that you lost 70 pounds through diet alone? If so, may I ask what your diet plan is?
If you are indeed still overweight you will need to either cut calories or exercise more to loose more pounds. Not knowing what you are eating or how many calories you are consuming and your height might make it difficult to give you any further advice but perhaps some of the kind folks on this forum will be able to assist you more than I can.
Good luck on you goals and take a bow for your accomplishment!

Hey thanks for responding. I am 5 6" and am trying to eat 1200 calories a day. sometimes I might eat 1300 or 1400. Its just frustrating because if I eat less I get really dizzy when i work out. I lost all of the other weight by eating 1000-1200 cals per day-but no exercise.

Just because the scale is going up, does not guarantee you are losing ground on your diet. The added weight could easily be new muscle. One good way to keep track is to periodicly take measurements from differenet places on your body and compare them with previous measurments. This will help you to determine if the added weight is from fat or muscle.

It sounds like you're right on target. It is possible that you may have reached a plateau. If indeed that is the case, you can make small changes in your exercise routine to trick your muscles into working harder. For instance, substitute one day on your treadmill for lifting weights or even swimming. Another way would be to simply vary the speed and/or incline on your treadmill. It really doesn't matter what it is, as long as it is some type of exercise that is different from your normal routine.
Hope this helps. You are definitely on the right track.

Joshesmommy,
P.S. Don't rely on your scale. Muscle weighs more than fat. Plus it is normal for your body weight to vary by a few pounds from day to day (usually just water weight). It can also very from morning to evening so be sure you are weighing yourself at the same time every day.
Another important note: Please do NOT eat any less than 1200 calories per day. It is neither healthy nor safe. Your body is trying to tell you something when you get dizzy eating only 1000 calories.
