Has anyone tryed massage therapy?
Has anyone heard of being treated with wellbutrin?
My DD rubbed my back down, ooooooooooo did it feel good, seemed to take the pain level down to about 3.
I was wondering about wellbutrin b/c I know that is a antidepressant and can help a person quit smoking, which is something I want to do.
Thanks

Hey Janice,
That's the only way that I survive most nights. I get a massage for about a 1/2 hour with massage oil, then he uses the tennis ball to take out any big knots, and then I take a hot shower and I put miracle rub on my back (This is along the same lines as icy hot, kinda smells like bengay but doesn't burn). The nights that he passes out from exhaustion and I don't have the heart to wake him is the nights that I don't sleep and I run around like a nut.
I tried the wellbutrin but since I don't like the side effects of those meds, I really try not to do them. I seem to get every side effect that is listed on meds, it's crazy. Even something as simple as benedryl that should make you tired, turns me into an all night cleaning machine.
Good Luck
Chris

I want to know how you all get prescribed these massages. I tried that with my rhuemy and she said my insurance would only pay if I went to a PT, well I did that and they started giving massages then they went into full blown PT. I just wanted a stinkin' rub down! LOL Anyhoo, this may sound stupid, but what's a DD? And I have had Deep Tissue Massage, that I paid for, and it was about the best thing I'd ever felt next to "you know what". Maybe better, but I'd never tell my husband that!
And I do take the Wellbutrin XL, switched to that from Effexor cuz of the sexual side effects. Effexor basically takes your libido and stomps it into the ground. Wellbutrin, did help me quit smoking. I was a light smoker, about a half pack a day. Now, I still want one, and I'd smoke one if someone gave it to me, but I don't really want to go to the trouble of going out and buying a pack. Too bad you can't just buy one. The Wellbutrin helps with depression and Fibro. It increases dopemine and serotonin. It does have some side effects the first couple weeks you are on it though, it you take it at the 300mg level.
Good luck.

DD is Darling Daughter (dear daughter too) Sorry!!
Cranial Sacral is special therapy where they gently move the plates in the skull to relieve pressure. It is very gentle and felt like a head massage mostly. I have dealt with daily, moderate to severe headaches for 18 months now. This was perscibed by my general doc when meds were not helping the headaches stop. It did help...
Icefire that sounds SOOO wonderful! My hubby is a doll and would do anything I ask, but I cannot get him to do it gently enough. His rub tends to inflame the muscles worse. My daughter has a magic touch!

Ooooo you two are so lucky to have willing massagers. My hubby is wonderful about most things but this is not on his list. I'm lucky if I can get him to put lotion on my back or pain rub. So enjoy you two. I do have a best friend who's a massage therapist and gives me a free massage a couple times per month as her schedule allows. That is wonderful.
Love - Andy
P.S. I know some people who've quit smoking with Wellbutrin.

Hi everyone.
Thanks for the responce, Im calling my normal doctor today. Going to ask to be put on wellbutrin and some kind of pain killer that I can take when the pain gets to be too much. I spent most of Sat. and all of Sunday in bed.
I wish I could get the licence number to the truck that hit me. LOL.
My dd asked how a back rub would feel, I just about put her to sleep, it relaxed her so much. LOL. Now she really understands why I ask her to do this for me. I tryed to teach my hubbie, but his hand are so rough and tuff, it was more like he was scratching my back for me. More lessons for him. LOL
I dont know if my ins. will pay for message therapy so for now I'll keep asking my dd for one when I need to.
Again thanks all
