View Full Version : Medications for nausea.

is there an over the counter med that someone can take for nausea? My 14 year old brother feels sick in the morning before school (due to being nervous) and throws up every morning. If he can take something that will thwart the feeling that he's going to throw up, he will break this cycle.
Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you.

Pepto bismol may help. It comes in liquid, chewable tablets, and (my favorite) caplets to swallow. It might be beneficial, however, to look into the causes of the anxiety itself and to deal with that, rather than just treating symptoms.

An antihistamine, like dimetapp should help too and may even relax him a bit since its anxiety, but I really think the problem should be addressed as well. Perhaps your mom or dad, or you, should have a talk with his school guidance counsellor or a trusted teacher? Maybe his doctor would also be a good place to start? It does sound like he is having anxiety attacks.

Hope the problem gets resolved soon.
