I came back from Africa recently and I'm taking doxycycline for a few more days. Two days ago I took a capsule and proceeded to go about my daily routine. I thought I was getting the start of a cold because I had a strange sensation, a bit like a sore throat in my neck. I have since not developed a cold and feel like the pill is in my throat. I have taken my capsule today with no problem. I feel the pill just below my Adam's apple but it seems to move a bit. I've tried gulping a whole bottle of water, feeling for it, everything I can think of. It seems a bit of a waste to go see a doctor with some so minor.
Today it has become very irritating and a touch painful whenever I swallow. Please help me sort his out.

It might be related to a sore throat and not a pill itself. If you still think it is the pill you took try eating a slice of bread untoasted, see if that helps.
If you aren't better by morning call the doctor, especially if your throat looks read or you have a fever.
