I had my doc check my creatine level while having my choles. checked and it came back 1.7 (rechecked friday same number). Doc said normal was .8 to 1.4. I made an appointment with a Nephrologist (never heard of one utill today) to get checked out b/c I only have 1 kedney.

What casues natural creatine levels to be high?

Creatinine is the waste product of muscle metabolism. Its level is a reflection of the body's muscle mass.Low levels are sometimes see in kidney damage, protein starvation, liver disease, or pregnancy.
Elevated levels are sometimes seen in kidney disease due to the kidneys job of excreting creatinine, muscle degeneration and some drugs involved in impairment of kidney function.
