Hi I am wondering if you can help me with the latest test results.
ASI saliva test
8am cortisol 6 (13-24)
12pm 5 (5-10)
4pm 4 (3-8)
12am 4 (1-4)
cortisol burden 19 (23-42)

DHEA 5 (3-10)

My current doctor has given me DHEA 5mg a day.
I am going to a different DO as everyone in these boards has mentioned that I should try. He was nice and talked to me on the phone before I would commit to an appointment. He said its sounds to him like a thyroid problem, according to symptoms. He also said he would treat according to symptoms. He also said that he uses Armour and from what I am reding on the boards it seems to be the option that works best.
Hopefully things are starting to come together now.
So anyway, if anyone has any insight as to the ASI it would be greatly appreciated. It looks very odd to me. The graph looks like a low, flat line with no variation????
What is Secretory IgA? Mine is depressed?
Is there any connection between thyroid and adrenal issues?
Thanks again! You are all so helpful!!!

Hi Chris
Thanks for responding. I am in the process of doing female hormone panel now, it will be about a week before I mail that one off.

My doctor did not mention cortef or anything like it. He just has me taking DHEA. I just started it today. He did not mention any other tests. I will see what the new doc says on Fri.

I have been reading quite a lot of things that mention DHEA lowers cortisol. I dont know if that is true. If it is I dont think that is what I need.

I am also wondering if I were to take cortef etc. would I gain weight?
It appears to me that adrenal insuff. causes you to lose weight. I DO NOT have that problem. Maybe its thyroid? Maybe its both?

I also know that my growth hormone is low. All of the endos(in my insurance) say it is not low enough to be treated. I have spent so much money on this whole process that started a year ago. It seems like the only ones who listen and think there is something wrong are not covered by my wonderful HMO.

It does appear that having low DHEA and other hormones can cause growth hormone to be low.

It is all a huge mystery. I hope this new dr will be good.
Thanks again!
