what is difference between ms and fibro? how would you know apart from mri?? thanks, april xx

hi apriltones,

I don't think that you can distinguish between the two other than the fact that MS is progressive and Fibro is not! Now, that's according to the doctor's. I personally don't feel that Fibro is not a progressive illness.

so if my symptoms were ms and not fibro i would be getting worse? thanks, love ap

When do they an MRI of your brain, they would be able to see if you had MS. I just had an MRI to test for MS and it was neg. When you do an MRI of the brain and you have fibro, everything shows up normal.

thanks cris, bet you relieved its not ms? How was mri? will neuro arrange that for me or is it last thing they do? im worried if its ms as i have little baby. Ms and fibro symptoms are so alike.Is ms more progessive do you know? like i would be worse each day? love april xx

If they suspect that it's MS based on symptoms they will do an MRI to rule it out. I am relieved that it isn't MS one one hand but on the other hand it's a pain in the butt to have this much pain and not be sure exactly what's causing it all. The MRI was horrible, I had an open one because I'm claustraphobic and I still screamed to get out LOL, I'm such a baby.

Chris I'm so happy it's not MS. April I'm sorry your worried about MS. I hope you find an answer soon so you can ease your mind. I don't know very much about MS.
