Ive been having pain on both sides of my mid-back for 4 months now and I have also showed positive for blood in urine in 4/6 tests. The pain is gone in the morning but comes about midday and stays until I goto sleep at night. I have gotten cat scan and mri and showed negative for stones. Also when I strain to shout, etc.. I feel like my kidneys are cramping up and then they are soar. I am 22 yrs, overweight 5'10 at 240 and have never had this problem. Could this be a sign of damage from large doses of drugs like acetaminophen? I use to take high amounts b4 this happened (4000-4500mg every day or 2). I now take vicoden 2 times a day, 1 when pain starts and 1 to sleep at night. Should I stop the meds, both? I had no infections in blood tests also throughout this. I wake up sweeting alot too. Please someone help me on any of this the doctors have me running blind and scared. I would appreciate anything. :(
PS - my doctor said NO - when i asked him if marijuana was doing any of this, I quit then (3 months ago) but no improvement.

Mikeny, I'm no doctor so I can't really help to your questions regarding meds and drugs. If there are no stones, what have the doctors told you about the bleeding in urine? On my experience it can be gravel, alas micro-stones too small to be seen through an ecography but that can still hurt a lot and, I think, can cause bleeding.
If I were you I'd see an urologist, if you haven't done it yet. Or have you? Anyway I don't think you should worry. In four months, if you had something serious, it would have manifested in the lab tests.
Let us know:)

thank you for responding. I have asked 100's of people and seen 4 different doctors and nothing. Ive changed my entire life becuase of this. I hope they find something soon or I'll give myself severe anxiety. If anyone else has any ideas please help. Ive seen a urologist, 2 physician, a back doctor, and a nutritionist. They make me feel like I have a rare desease and they dont know what to call it.

Hey Mickey, I can relate to this. I have passed stones so small, they were not even detected by me in a strainer and they hurt like heck! And if you did pass a stone, Ihave to tell you, the kidney feels bruised up for quite sometime.
