I posted this in the wrong forum (Beauty) becuase I didn't see this one. The mods can delete the other if they wish. I apologize for the mix up.

Hello all! I am new to this site...and I think I am going to like it here!

I have some questions for anyone that has undergone plastic surgery. Specifically reconstructive surgery. I was involved in a serious ATV accident on Mother's day this year. I just had my consult with the plastic surgeon today for some reconstructive procedures. Right now the plan is to rebuild my ear, scar revision on my face, and a septoplasty/rhinoplasty. What can I expect from these procedures? How long is recovery? How much pain tends to be involved? I would love to hear personal expirences from anyone that has had any of these procedures. Thanks!!!

Hi there, I had something very simaliar to your condition! I had an ATV accident when I was 15, and they did imediate surgery to reconstruct my face. They put some implants under my eyes and on the bridge of my nose, to this day I don't know what they are made of or how strong they are, but my over all appearence is pretty close to the way I was to begin with, othe than the fact I lost my eye as well! The only problems I have with it, other than knowing nothing about the nature of these implants, is you tent to see them in certain light, at least in my case. As far as the scars go, I don't have but 3, and one is within my eye brow, and you can't really see it! The other is under my eye, where they had to cut to put in the implants, and the other is on the bridge of my nose, but I wear dark glasses to cover up my eye that is missing completly and it also serves to hide the scar.
Over all recovery is sligtly extended, it took my a couple of years for my face to get back to normal, but there was really no pain involved. They will tell you to not get in fights or ride roller coasters, it's a bunch of bull.

Well, I don't fight, and I don't ride roller coasters so that isn't a problem. LOL
My surgeries are scheduled for the 28th of this month. I am anxious to get it over with. I am so sorry to hear about your accident! How did it happen? Mine happened on Mother's day and I went through a barbed wire fence. Luckily my glasses saved my eyes (my glasses were scratched up and I had a laceration right at the corner of my eye.) My surgeon is confident that he can fix the muscles that were severed in the accident that control my smile, as well as resculpt my ear and fix my nose.

The only concern I have is the doctor said I should not be lifting anything for a minimum of two weeks. I have an almost 7 year old child with disabilities that has to be lifted frequently.
