I use 2 kinds. I have Thermasilk Volume and Shine Tonic, which I cant live without. If you spray it all over your hair, it will work as a volumizer, but it doesnt make big hair...it just gives my flat hair a little more life. If your spray it near the roots and blow dry your hair upside down, it works well as a root lifter. I also use Clairol Herbal Essences Natural Volume Root Volumizer. With this, your are supposed to squirt it right on your scalp and work it in with your fingers. Then blowdry, it works very well, but make sure your dont put too much it once spot because it wont fully dry and it will clump your hair in that spot.

I just started using Physique volume boosting foam and so far it is doing great. You can use it just on your roots for a boost!
