Yeah I'm a vegetarian...have been for 5 years (since I was 11). I was never really a big meat fan so I didn't have any trouble adjusting...but my parents did!!!

I don't eat seafood, or anything that has had something that was alive in it (so nothing with gelatine or anything (eg marshmallows)), I don't like eggs or milk but don't mind if it is cooked in something, as long as I can't taste or see it. I have vegetarian cheese, and not most types of yoghurt because it has gelatine in it. I don't really 'plan' my meals, I just eat what the rest of my family does, minus the above list. Which explains why I now have to have iron supplements for the rest of my life

I now buy things like vegetarian patties when my family has burgers and stuff, I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. :)

What about an Iron supplement , sometimes I have low energy!!What is a typical menu day for you. I eat yogurt for breakfast or a protein shake and salads, raw vegetables, nuts, and fish most of the time!

I have been a pesco-vegetarian for nearly 10 years now(i'm nearly 23 right now), I only eat tuna or salmon once or twice monthly, to keep up my protein. For the most part, i eat dairy and am a big fan of the boca/veggie frozen products, they're great. Especially the meatless riblets, those were awesome!!

I'm vegan. Have been vegetarian for 12 years ( I am 24 now), and vegan for the last three. I have never taken an iron supplement nor have I needed one and I am very healthy and happy.

In addition to meat/fish/poultry, I don't consume eggs or dairy products either since their production, like all other animal food production, necessarily entails the torture and killing of animals. The egg and dairy industry IS the meat industry; there's no distinction between them at all.

Yogurt is an easy one to give up because there are great non-dairy yogurts out there. Check out Wildwood, Silk, and other brands of soy yogurt. Same goes for milk.

I'm a professional chef and a foodie and I eat a huge variety of foods from traditions all over the world= both things I cook myself and stuff I buy in supermarkets and get out at restaurants. People assume that it is really hard to be pure vegetarian/vegan, but it's really so easy!
