Hello everyone, I would like to introduce myself. I am a 59 year old female who has had hypertension for many years. I think I know the key to lowering my BP, but for some reason, I continue with my bad habits. I find the more I exercise on a daily basis, the lower my BP reading :bouncing: . I did end up in ER in 98 with a blockage in my right renal artery. After a angioplasty while still on the table, my BP dropped dramatically. I say it dropped because of the ativan. Not sure if the blockage was from a car accident or from the BP medication. Now a few years later, I find that I have scar tissue in the artery. I wonder if this could be from the angioplasty. At this time, I also lost the hearing in my right ear. They say I had a TIA. A month before the ER, I had gone to a acupunturist (sp) and had an needle put in both ears and I believe I lost the needle in my right ear. Nobody can tell my if that could be the reason for my hearing loss. They say it's from the TIA. I'm not sure that they're correct. At that time I was presribed Norvasc, Visotec, atentol. The side effects were horrendous. My GP next prescribed Celexa 40 mg. 1x daily. Since then I have gone off the Norvasc and atenol and now take 10 mg Vasotec 2X daily, a common diuretic and I've dropped the celexa dosage to 10 mg a day without Dr's ok. Sometimes my BP is normal and sometimes it spikes. Now, I'm working on my diet and environment  . Sorry, didn't mean to write a book. Good luck to everyone. :)
