I took my 5 year old son to the doctor today for a physical and his hemoglobin level was 11.4 g/dl. The doctor said that he has mild anemia and told me to just change his diet a little by making sure that he eats beans, broccoli......stuff like that.
My child is very healthy. He rarely ever gets sick..........but at the moment he does have a cold. Could his cold be the reason that his hemoglobin is lower? How low is it? What are normal levels for a 5 year old? Is there anything that I should worry about? What other foods out there can I feed him to help increase it?
