Hi
The short answer is yes. I was referred by my GP to a doc who specialises in the treatment of Fibromyalgia and CFS. This was after doing rounds of docs and tests for just about every illness known to man and then some more. A new younger gp joined the practice and I went to see him as my gp was on leave. He suggested Fibromyalgia as a possibility and referred me to the doc I am with now. This "specialist" tells me that that the treatment is different for every patient and it is a question of experimentation with meds and lifestyle to see what will work.
I had forgotton how bad Fibro is. I had not realised that things were better because I still have fibro. Recently I got a bad flare up and all the symptoms hit. This was a reminder to me as to how bad it was and is, but generally I am a lot better than last year or anytime in the last five or six years.
Good luck with your search

I too have seen a rhumatologist and my gp takes care of my everyday stuff. Most muscle relaxants meds have reverse responses in my body but I too, do stretches and that helps me lose some of the stiffness. IB works well on me for the everyday aches and pain but I also have used other over counter pain killers.
Good Luck on the hunt for doctor and I too, hope you can get some relief soon!
