I'm scared about my recent results of my paps. 14 years ago I had a cone biopsy done. Last year I had my first abnormal pap in years. It was a severe Cin III dysplasia. My doctor performed the leep procedure and all margins were clear. My 3 month pap came back ASCUS and my doctor wasn't worried. She said it was probably do to the healing process. Well I just had another pap 3 months later and that one came back ASCUS also. I'm worried that it's starting all over again. The nurse told me my doctor wants to talk to me about having a hysterectomy. I don't want to do that yet. I want either another leep or cone biopsy. I am having a colpo on Tuesday and pray that it turns out to be nothing. Has anyone had two abnormal paps after the leep? I'm not going to have any more children but I don't want to have major surgery yet. I feel that I want to try one more time before I do the hysterectomy. I would definitely feel better. Has anyone had a second leep procedure? Did things turn out better that time? I'm going crazy with worry.

I would just wait until after your colp and see what the Dr. advises..If you aren't planing having anymore kids and with your history maybe the hysterectomy option will be something you do begin to consider. Hysterectomy for pre-cancer or 0 stage is not all that invasive and can many times (most) save the ovaries..Just see what your Dr. says...I ended up with invasive cancer and had a radical hysterectomy with all nodes removed.I can absolutely say that a less invasive hyst. is certainly the way to go at a time when it can be curative. A radical is no fun and comes with many complications including an atonic bladder and bowel and also involves removal of part of the vagina, which causes its own set of problems...But, that is only used for stage 1-B or higher invasive cancer....
I don't tell you this to scare you I just want you to understand what a radical compared to other types of hysterectomies involves...
The best of luck to you

Hey there, after my first LEEP, I tested abnormal twice. Since my first leep showed CIN III, he wanted to go in and get rid of the abnormal cells again. This was only 6 months after my first surgery. I just got my results today and they showed CIN III again. I'm not sure what this means for my future, but I think its IMPORTANT to continue to get checked and do the procedures.

Does anyone know anything about having children after leep? My doctor told me my cervix is now short.
