View Full Version : Tired Looking and Washed Out!

In the morning I always look so tired and washed out! My eyes look so tired and I have a pale cast to my skin. Is there someway I can give my skin and especially my eyes a wake up call in the mornings? I'm always pressed for time in the mornings, so I need something fast. I have dark circles under my eyes which I conceal with make-up, so I don't want to try anything that would make them darker for some reason or another. I've tried cucumbers, but I don't like to do this because it makes my dark circles...well..darker lol! Thanks! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

I've heard that using a bright blue or a white eyeliner pencil really close to the lash line will help make your eyes look brighter or more awake. I've also heard using a shimmery white eyeshadow on the inner corners of your eyelids (by the bridge of your nose) works, as well as curling your eyelashes to give you a more wide-eyed look. A cold-water splash on my face in the morning also seems to help!

Try a sunless tanner, but go light. A good "light" one is Banana Boad Soft-Medium Blend.

Also, Coppertone Effortless Color in light/medium would be good.

To reduce eye puffiness, try any type of cold treatment, be it a bag of frozen peas wrapped in a washcloth, one of those gel eye masks you toss in the refrig, or something you devise.

Curl your eye lashes. It opens up the eyes, so they look bigger and more expressive. You may also want to use a thin line of eye liner too.

Looking washed out maybe would be because of your haircolor. I used to be like that. I have fair medium skin and had blonde hair. I looked so pale and washed out. Also dark color hair can do the same thing. I found that a meduim brown with light blonde highlights does not make me look so pale and washed out. Maybe you can try that!!

Thanks for all the advice! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif I learned that drinking more water helps dark circles so I've been drinking a lot more in the past few months. It really has lightened them! They are still noticeable, but not nearly as dark as they used to be! My hair color is red and I have really dark brown eyes. That's my problem right there right lol? I don't want to dye my hair though because I'm afraid I would never get my color back. I love it! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif I recently changed my make-up and it seems to make a big difference. I got rid of my eye liner and I only use a little bit of shimmery eye shadow. I always thought eye liner would make my eyes pop, but I was wrong lol.. Anyway, I appreciate all of the advice! I'm willing to try about anything!

I'm always tired in the morning too - being a college student and waking up at 6 every morning is tiring http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif

The things I find work the best are:

-- Having a tan - whether it be from the tanning bed, natural sun, or from a bottle, though I do have to say the tanning beds do look nicer than the bottle. I know it's horrible for your skin, but I only go once every couple of months and it truly makes a difference even weeks after doing it.

-- I wear white eyeliner almost every single day and it looks great, probably from my tan and I have blonde hair, but it works really well to make your eyes look bright. Go for white or shimmery eyeliners/shadows and black mascara.

-- Blush makes a world of a difference, invest in a good quality peach-ish blush that looks natural and sunkissed - I couldn't live without mine from MAC!

-- I have an eye mask that you put in the freezer and then place over your eyes in the morning, I find it really does bring the puffiness down if I look horribly tired!

You're right that makeup makes a big difference, sometimes just changing your colours around or adding a blush can make you look ten times better! Lucky you having red hair http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wink.gif

Hello fellow redhead! I am pale also, and have blue eyes...but can look really washed out in the winter.

I love Revlon Skinlights....I use Light, and mix a dab with my foundation. It gives a great glow to your skin. In the summer I use in on my chest and shoulders when I wear halters or sleeveless tops. It also has sunscreen in it - so that's an added bonus.

Take care.

Do you take vitamins? I have found that drinking more water helps when I look tired/washed out.

I love Revlon Skinlights! I've been using it for about a month now and it's wonderful. The only thing that I don't like about it is that if it gets near my eyes it irritates them. Have you tried any of the other Skinlights products? I was wondering if they were just as good.

Blush really has made an improvement for me. I need that extra bit of color!

I take one vitamin a day if I remember. It really does seem to boost my energy level! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Thanks everyone!
