Have been having pain in my right shoulder for a couple of days. I am a 52 yr old woman and a cashier at walmart. Have been in such pain i couldn't work good. Went to dr today and he said i have bursitis. gave me a rx for muscle relaxant and pain meds (bextra and durabac) and gave me exercises to do at home. Glad to know what it is, but it sure does hurt.

Bextra is an anti-imflamatory which is good you will need it. Bursitis is when the bursa sac that is between joints for cushioning fills up excessively with fluids and then puts pressure on the nerves and bones that surround it, this is what causes the pain.
Be careful with your exercises. Don't lift heavy things it will only aggravate it. Ice it every so often to help with the pain but don't use heat you may only make it worse.
Be sure not to miss any of your daily dose of bextra, even if you feel good, Bextra is intended to work on a continual basis not as needed. If you start to have problems with your stomach or your kidneys hurt be sure to contact your doctor.

I never heard of Durabac so I did some research, there is very little information to be found but I can tell it's been out at least a year. From what I found it is prescribed normally for low back pain, headaches, arthritis and a few other things and it does contain acetaminophen so be sure you do not take any tylenol with it. It also has caffiene in it so if you are sensitive to caffiene you might want to watch out.
