What does it do (what it is)?

Its a lotion. You can find it in your local drug store. I found mine at Eckerds. So look where you find your hand lotions and body lotions. Jergen Naturally Smooth. It works great, you'll have to use it for a couple of months to find out how great, and how well it works for you. GOOD LUCK

be carefull. I used it and it did work as it claims. However after a couple of months I also noticed the hair on my head started thinning. After I stopped using it it took a couple of months for my head hair to fill back out. I have heard women who said the same thing happened to them, and some who love it. Just be carefull.

I have used it and had no problem. I've never heard anything like that ever happening. Apparently its pretty safe because I've never heard stories like that and has positive advertising from other ppl.

A friend of mine tested this product and told me it worked for her too, quite quickly. She used it on her eyebrows actually, to see if she'd need to pluck as often - the hair grew in thinner and blonde. She actually stopped using it eventually because she found it really hard to pluck those really light really fine hairs (they still drove her crazy even though they were barely noticeable). I'd try it on my bikini/pubic area though...that'd be worth it!

Just because YOU havent heard it does not mean it isnt so. I have heard it, and it happened to me. I was just warning people to be carefull. I am glad it works for you, but people should hear both sides of the story.

i think it mite be a good idea to call jergens and report the side effect..your hair loss.. to them..it may be something they are already aware of or it may be that they did not have anyone experience it ... ...i believe that products can react differently on different people..and the manufacturer should be told ..

My daughter used it for a few weeks until she noticed the hair on her head was starting to fall out. It is something to keep in mind if you are going to use it.

I agree with Gracie. Different products have different effects on different people. People should be made aware of the possible side effects so that they can decide if the gain is worth the possibility of some side effects. That goes with any product, prescription or otherwise. on prescription medications, all side effects are listed, but that doesn't mean everyone will experience any or all of them. Gracie says she experienced hair loss with the product and knows of others who have as well. Shygirl says she loves the product and has not. The beauty of this healthboard is that we get to read true testaments of all products and experiences. We shouldn't get snippy with one another, but instead be glad that we get to read from personal experiences and not just advertisements.

Maybe Shygirl is having a bad day; however one of the advantages of being able to edit your message is so after reading it you have the ability to make any changes to things that did not come out like you meant them to.
I really appreciate all the different opinions on various products; I feel I am more able to make intelligent choices when purchasing.

Hey Gracie,

Please don't leave the board not everyone will agree hon but some of us really do appreciate the advice given http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif I have used this product off and on and never had problems probably because I didn't use it for that long...

Does anyone else wonder WHAT is in this stuff that is strong enough to change the way our hair actually grows? That has to be some powerful chemical. This kind of thing scares me! If it is getting absorbed into your skin in order to do what it's supposed to, what possible other side effects are going to show up later? I had bought a bottle of the Curel lotion a few months ago, but decided to get rid of it after thinking it over and reading a post Gracie made back then telling her story. Thanks Gracie, for warning of the possible danger in using these products!

Wow, I'm sure glad I read this post! I was considering buying my 8 year old daughter some of this lotion. She has dark long hair on her legs and I thought it might make them less noticable. She is too young to shave. I don't think I will be buying any now just to be on the safe side.

I believe that ~~ Differences of opinion are normal and healthy. That sentence has been written in one of the postings on this board. That is what it looks like people have been doing about the jergens topic. No one means any harm.

I don't think we should forget who was the orignal poster on this topic... Shygirl, didn't you say that everyone should go out and try this stuff? If this product is truly harmful, and you told everyone to go and get it, wouldn't you feel bad? I just think a little research should be done before encouraging others.

It is important to respect diverse opinions, and not allow the discussion to become heated or personal.

I was interested in trying this stuff too, but after reading the experiences some of you have had I think I'll pass lol! I'm curious though.. Is this stuff like a low grade Nair or what?
