I have gone from a size 6 to a 12 in a year. That is ridiculous and seems unnatural to me. I can't find pants to fit me anymore, and I can't dress like my normal self because I feel embarressed. I also can't get shirts to fit because somehow I grew in the "northern" region. I'm depressed about it and want to do something. I've increased exercise, and tried to cut down calories. I just don't know what to do. Can someone help me? I'm falling apart :(

Oh how I know how you feel. I gained about 20 pounds in the last 6 months. I am sooooo depressed I can't take it anymore. I never wanna go out and do anything b/c I feel so embarrassed. I am not completely overweight ... all my clothes are so tight on me.. I am so depressed.. It's horrible.. I know how I gained weight.. stress and emotional eating.. stress would lead me to binge on junk food and I mean binge.. it's been bad and I feel like I have lost control.. 2 months ago I tried to take control and started to exercise and eat better.. but then I feel deprived and just binge again. Oh what I would do to be back to my normal weight.. ughhh!! Please write back b/c I know how you feel and maybe we can help each other!

I hate this feeling of being overweight. I don't look it, and in fact people will say to me "Gosh, Christine. Have you been losing weight?" or "Gosh you look tiny!". So I wanna know what's wrong? I mean, the dress I wore to the junior prom three years ago still fits me, but a dress I bought just a year ago will barely fit (and I was much smaller at prom season than summer). I just don't get it. I have a hard time finding clothes anymore. I was recently in a musical, and was asked "What size do you wear?", and I couldn't answer, because I didn't know. I felt stupid not knowing what size I wore, either. It was so upsetting, that I had to hide out in the bathroom and cry. I felt so ashamed.
Maybe we can help each other out :)

We can definetly help each other out. I know exactly what you are feeling. I am not an excessively overweight person. I just need to really slim down and get back into my old weight. Have you started dieting at all? I've started to diet by eating about 1400 calories and started exercising more. I'm also taking the supplement CLA. The only problem I have is that when I diet I tend to binge often and I mess up :( That's been happeninig lately a lot. I really could use someone to stick with to keep me on track. I return to school this wednesday so hopefully I will be able to stick with the diet. Stress is what led me to gaining weight 6 months ago. :( How about you? Let me know what you plan on doing (diet wise and exercise wise) and we can definetly help each other :)

I have started eating by cutting out all junkie foods. Of course, I found myself craving the "good stuff" and basically going psycho for it. I didn't eat any, but like you, I do tend to binge when I am dieting... :nono:
I want more than anything to get back to the way I was. I used to be a size 4 pants, and 6 or 8 up top. Just like you, I want to get back to my normal weight.
Also, I gained because of stree/injury. I had shin splints back at the beginning of the year, which kept me off my feet and on my back for about six weeks. I gained a lot then. I was under a great deal of stress with the death of my father/nasty break-up/moved into a new apartment/Freshman year in college. Basically, it was hell. I feel like I've lost a little, and I'm hoping I have.
I'm glad to know I've got someone who can help me and keep me in check. Thanks a mill!!!!!

But I'm hoping that now that I am going back to school I will be to busy to be eating so much. I'm trying to cut back to about 1400 calories a day and am trying to exercise as much as possible.
