yo-yo dieting is very hard on the metabolism. Some studies actually show that it's worse than not dieting at all. :(
You will need to pick a weight loss strategy and STICK WITH IT through tough times and easy. I highly recommend the Fat Flush Plan by Ann Louise Gittleman as it is not so much a weight loss plan as a healthy eating lifestyle.
And babe, until you are willing to change the lifestyle that made you fat on a PERMANENT basis (and not just temporarily as in 'dieting') chances are you will be locked in the yo-yo diet syndrome.
Think of it like this...it's your LIFESTYLE that made you overweight. Temporary fixes cannot prevent weight gain if you go back to that lifestyle. :( It isn't easy to make lifestyle changes (or else we'd all be able to lose weight whenever we decided to!), but in the long run, it's the healthy thing to do.
I decided that a fat middle age followed by a probably-all-too-short old age in a nursing home was NOT the future I wanted. So I bit the bullet and made a permanent lifestyle change. Flushed 57 pounds in a little more than 6 months and have kept it off for over a year. I've never been in better health. wahooooooooo!
Brownies are good, but they aren't worth dieing for.
best wishes,

csoar2004 is so right. I have never, and I mean never in my life, seen anyone keep weight off long-term by dieting alone. It really does take a lifestyle change. And you know what? Gradually changing one or two eating habits at a time is actually easier than dieting, and the resulting weight loss is permanent.

thank you for your replies i am trying to change my "lifestyle" but it is very hard.
anyways i am going to extend my goal date to march 21 that means in order for me to lose 35 pounds by then then i have to lose 1.14 pounds a week (according to fitday) my question is how many calories should eat each day to achieve this goal??

Since you are consuming 1600 calories per day, and not losing any weight, you would need to consume 1100 per day in order to lose 1 pound per week. That's not even the 1.14 lb. goal. Not a good idea. Anything below 1200 calories a day is unsafe.
Instead of trying to cut that many calories, you can ad more exercises to increase the amount of calories you burn each day. That way you can continue with the same amount of calories but still lose weight.
Don't be fooled by your scale either. Exercising builds muscle which weighs more than fat, but your dress/pant size will decrease much faster.
You didn't mention what kind of diet you are on. It needs to be one you can live with for the rest of your life, or you will not only gain back the weight, you will also have more difficulty taking it off the next time.

Excellent! :bouncing: Cutting out, or just cutting down a few things at a time is so much better than denying yourself everything you love. Sounds like you are working towards a real lifestyle change.
Good luck! :)

1600 is semi starvation honey, you aren't losing as your body won't let you, you have put your body into conservation mode, all because it is famines that cause fat gain, dieting is famine, and what eventually comes after a famine? feasting to gain weight, you have trained your body to expect famines and it has responded like lightening to your attempts at losing weight again.
it will burn up muscles before burning up fat. your body has slowed your metabolism. I recommend the books bodyfueling by robyn landis and How to be naturally thin by eating more, by jean antenello, it will explain why you can't lose weight on such a low caloire diet.
RR hope it helps.
