recently i have noticed that after i use the bathroom my {for lack of a better word} crap turns the toilet water green... is this a sign of cancer. or could it be something else??? please tell me

i also must ad that i am on the atkins diet.. i know the diet effects the kidnyes a bit.. but i have been on the diet for months.. these symptoms just started.

Green poo is not, to the best of my knowledge, a sign of colon cancer.

The Atkins diet does affect the colon though. A low fiber content makes it difficult for the colon to move contents along. Try a fiber supplement, there are those in pill form(they are large pills I might add) and the type you dissovle in water. Also drink plenty of water (no carbs in H2O) and lay off alcohol and coffee and walk around the block once a day.

Low fiber/ high meat content diets, and that would include Atkins, do slightly increase the likelyhood of colon cancer. If there is any history of colon cancer in your family find another diet.
